In Indiana, a volunteer Census worker, Daniel Miller, is being accused of breaking into a house he had previously visited on his Census rounds. In the house, he allegedly raped a beat a 21-year old handicapped woman. He probably gained knowledge of the handicapped woman while he was conducting a Census interview.
This is the fault of the Census Bureau. They are collecting information not required by the US Constitution. Collecting all of this extra information creates a need for lengthy interviews and visits to the interiors of people's homes. If the Census were just asking for a simple count of people as mandated by the Constitution, these interviews could be conducted in seconds at the door of the residence, by simply asking a homeowner one question: How many people live at this residence?

Congress Targets Specific Citizens with the AIG Bonus Tax
Today the House of Representatives voted to tax the recipients of AIG bonuses to be taxed at 90%. These bonuses were contractual obligations, which were recently approved by Barack Obama and Congress. Now, amid public outcry, the House of Representatives wants to seize this legally acquired money from private citizens with a specific tax.
Did you ever imagine Congress would be writing laws to seize money from specific people? Did you ever imagine, Congress would go after individuals? Today, it is AIG employees. Next time it could be you.

Surveillance Bill Dissolves Rights of Americans
Thanks to the House of Representatives and the US Senate, we are now one signature away from losing more rights and privacy. The Surveillance Bill gives greater power to the Federal government’s initiatives to spy on law-abiding Americans without court approval. It also grants protection to companies, which comply with the Federal government in violating your rights. In short, the government wants to continue to spy on you and give you little recourse, if any.
President George W. Bush is likely to sign this Surveillance Bill and continue an era where you as a private citizen may be put under intrusive investigation without a warrant. And, by the way, the surveillance warrants are available. The Bush administration just does not want to be troubled with requesting them through proper channels. Apparently, convenience trumps your Fourth Amendment rights.
